i've got a spell on you.

Hey there, so as my first official blogpost besides my blogsale I thought it would be pretty fun to discuss one of my favorite makeup items, highlighters! I was going through my makeup collection, and decided to play with some face shine makers. I initially reached for my new Laura Mercier Spellbound, something I impulsively bought in the middle of the night to avoid missing out on it. I picked it up some time in June, and haven't compared it to any of my other gold-y highlights, so I thought I'd do that today.

Here she is, Spellbound in all of her rosey gold glory.

I'm sheet of paper pale, so I normally tend to pass on really gold heavy highlights because if over applied, they tend to make me look crazy, I thought an exception to this would be necessary considering I wasn't willing to let this Laura Mercier product slip through my makeup grubbing hands (a la rose rendezvous holiday 2011). But when I got home and opened it, I realized something oddly familiar about it. It looked similar to a couple of highlighters that I already had. The two it most resembles (that aren't limited edition) are Dior Amberdiamond which is a crazy gorgeous highlight with a cult following, and ELF Golden Bronzer, which is a beautiful budget find. All of three of the products give off a similar glow.

Here's all three of the beauties. Dior on top, Spellbound to the right, and Elf Golden Bronzer to the left.

Here's some swatches. L-R, Spellbound, Dior, Elf.

As you can see from the photos and swatches, they're all pretty similar, yet different enough to justify owning both, in my crazy mental opinion. Spellbound has the nicest texture of the three. It's really smooth and applies evenly. The texture of Amber Diamond is still really nice, it's just slightly chunky in comparison to the Spellbound, and it also kicks up some fallout when you dip your brush into it (hence how disgustingly dirty the pan is in the photo).  The Elf golden bronzer is obviously my most used. I love it mainly for the reason that it's so versatile. The top two shades are warm, and the bottom two are cool so I can have a custom highlight for any time of the year. I also really enjoy that random light taupe square on the bottom, I think it's fantastic for a highlight because not everyone is a bronzed beach babe, so those warm browns and coppers don't work for everyone.

All in all, I think they're all awesome in their own right, and I really recommend them; However, no one will be able to tell the difference between the three on your face, so it's really up to you as to which ones you indulge in.

Blog Sale.

Hey there! I'm quite new to this whole thing, but I thought I would try to sell some stuff that I no longer use, so that it could be passed on and loved by someone else. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to prices, etc. I'm willing to make group deals as well (ex: two items for $40). Because I'm so new, I will only ship to the US (sorry!) and shipping will be $4 for one item and then just $5 for more than one item. I'm not attached to the prices that I will list, so feel free to barter with me! :) Obviously, things will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, etc. If someone else claimed the item you want, and they do not pay, I will move on to you if you provide your information. I will try to stay on top of marking things sold, etc.
I will package every item will care, in hopes that nothing breaks in transit; However, if something breaks, I will not be held responsible. Which brings me to the next point, I will do my best to describe every item, and take the best possible pictures I can, in doing so, I expect all sales to be final, and will not issue any refunds.

I know that I'm new, so this may put a few people a little on edge. My MUA name is Seacolourr, and I have nothing but positive tokens, if that makes you feel any better. & My Youtube is http://www.youtube.com/user/cecinestpasvrai9.

I will accept Paypal, only. No other methods of payment.
Comment here with your Paypal email and the item you want. I will send you an invoice within 24 hours. You have 24 hours to complete the payment, or I will cancel the invoice and move on to someone else.
