Here she is, Spellbound in all of her rosey gold glory.

I'm sheet of paper pale, so I normally tend to pass on really gold heavy highlights because if over applied, they tend to make me look crazy, I thought an exception to this would be necessary considering I wasn't willing to let this Laura Mercier product slip through my makeup grubbing hands (a la rose rendezvous holiday 2011). But when I got home and opened it, I realized something oddly familiar about it. It looked similar to a couple of highlighters that I already had. The two it most resembles (that aren't limited edition) are Dior Amberdiamond which is a crazy gorgeous highlight with a cult following, and ELF Golden Bronzer, which is a beautiful budget find. All of three of the products give off a similar glow.
Here's all three of the beauties. Dior on top, Spellbound to the right, and Elf Golden Bronzer to the left.

Here's some swatches. L-R, Spellbound, Dior, Elf.

As you can see from the photos and swatches, they're all pretty similar, yet different enough to justify owning both, in my crazy mental opinion. Spellbound has the nicest texture of the three. It's really smooth and applies evenly. The texture of Amber Diamond is still really nice, it's just slightly chunky in comparison to the Spellbound, and it also kicks up some fallout when you dip your brush into it (hence how disgustingly dirty the pan is in the photo). The Elf golden bronzer is obviously my most used. I love it mainly for the reason that it's so versatile. The top two shades are warm, and the bottom two are cool so I can have a custom highlight for any time of the year. I also really enjoy that random light taupe square on the bottom, I think it's fantastic for a highlight because not everyone is a bronzed beach babe, so those warm browns and coppers don't work for everyone.
All in all, I think they're all awesome in their own right, and I really recommend them; However, no one will be able to tell the difference between the three on your face, so it's really up to you as to which ones you indulge in.
